Copper Canyon Golf Club is a 27-hole championship course designed by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, owned by the Sun City Festival HOA and managed by Troon Golf. It's an upscale daily fee course (not a private club) with a public-facing rate structure and a residents-only annual pass that's the best deal in the West Valley if you play regularly. Practice facilities span 100+ yards across two tiers — locals rate them among the best in the Valley.
Copper Canyon has three 9-hole routings (Lake, Mountain, and Vista) that play in two combinations: Lake/Mountain and Mountain/Vista. Generous fairways look overly inviting at first glance, but lead to large, undulating greens — the trademark Schmidt & Curley design feature. Four tee boxes accommodate every skill level.

The single best deal for Festival residents who play regularly. The Indigo Pass lets you pay as you play with reduced daily usage fees, no time-of-day restrictions, one start per day. Rates do not include sales tax.
Pro tip: Pass rates are prorated monthly — buying mid-year still makes sense if you'll play 30+ rounds before December.
Two people living in the same household, both with active Sun City Festival activity cards. Best value per person for couples who both golf.
For golfers who don't live in Sun City Festival but want pass access. Still a strong value vs. paying daily public rates if you play 25+ rounds/year.
Note: 2026 annual pass online sales have ended — visit the Copper Canyon golf shop in person to purchase. All pass sales end September 15 for the calendar year. Rates exclude sales tax and are subject to change.
For non-pass-holders, Copper Canyon is open to the public on a daily fee basis. Rates vary by tee time and season; below are the current May 2026 specials.
| Tee Time | Days | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Before 1:00 PM | Monday–Sunday | $85.00 |
| After 1:00 PM | Monday–Sunday | $65.00 |
| After 3:00 PM (9 holes) | Monday–Sunday | $51.00 |
Rates current May 1–31, 2026. Summer (June–September) rates drop significantly; winter (January–March) peak rates run higher. Check the official site for current specials.
Three ways to book:
Best times to book: Winter (December–April) is the peak season — morning tee times sell out 7+ days in advance. Summer mornings are still busy but easier to grab same-day. Afternoon and twilight tee times often have walk-up availability year-round.
The clubhouse restaurant Indigo Grille at the Falls is right at the 19th hole — overlooking the golf course with a dog-friendly patio. Open daily 11am–8pm (until 9pm Fridays, plus Sunday breakfast at 8am). It's open to the general public, not just golfers. See more on the Fun Things Locally page.
